THE CAREER DESK IS OPEN!!!

News from the PRCSQA WebMaster

Are you looking for a new job or employee? Or maybe you're just interested in posting your job qualifications online to see what turns up on the career horizon. Well you can do all that at our new section called the CAREER DESK on our PRCSQA website. This is a forum where companies or organizations can post jobs, or people can post job wanted ads. The service for posting a job wanted ad is FREE to PRCSQA members. I am hoping that this area in the website will be a resource for people in the Quality Assurance field as well as for people in the Regulatory arena, and other scientific/industry related organizations. The grand opening of the Career Desk featured two jobs, posted on October 28th!

Have you seen our Historical Timeline? You can find it from the front page of the website or in the Archive. It's short and sweet but it gives a good overview of our tremendous growth over the years. The Archive itself is a fun place to visit because it has a lot of great pictures from past meetings, as well as back issues of our newsletter.

The response to our website has been wonderful and I thought that I would write this article to fill you in on what a WebMaster would only know. I answer all the email that comes into our site. The email has been nothing but very positive feedback, but I also wanted to let you know that our site has been a resource for people with questions, as well as a tool to look up regulations and other information.

Some of the questions that I am asked deal with applying for membership to our organization. There have been two requests from people overseas that have surfed into our site wanting to join the PRCSQA! (I have now put our Membership Application online.) Other questions have included requests for information on other meetings, where certain guidelines can be located, how to develop a hompage, and requests for us to put a link to another organization's site on the internet. The most recent request was to post jobs, hence the Career Desk was born!

On an average day our site gets approximately 200-350 hits. (A hit is defined as one mouse click while surfing our site.) I am able to track during every 24 hour period, hour by hour, exactly how many hits we get. We even get hits on weekends! Whoever you are out there hitting on our site during the weekends, bless you and we are glad to be of service!

I have recently added links for online newspapers, dictionaries (including scientific and multi-lingual), directories, and lots of new Biotechnology and International links. In the future I plan to add more links that would cater to the business traveler in the "Fun and Useful References" section.

Have fun at our site and remember to email me with any comments or interesting links or sections that you would like to see on our site. This is your site!

The Registration Form for our next meeting in Reno, Nevada, can be found online here just in case you need to print another one out for a friend. Hope to see you at our next meeting!!!:-)
