What a great way to start 1999! Not only did PRC have a successful two day training session last January in Las Vegas; we had a dynamite meeting in Dublin, CA April 11. Thanks to the many people that made this possible. The morning session consisted of speakers: Eric Tamichi of Valent, John Rauchy and Mark Bolda of Plant Sciences, and Larrista Schuster of Central CA Research Lab. Linda Massey from Valent set up the accommodations for the morning session.

The afternoon session was hosted by National Food Lab. Special thanks to Bob Vetro for arranging a food processing demonstration . Our assignment was to audit NFL personnel (Neal Ewing, Frank Amos, Rob Reifenheiser and Josh Leng) conduct a potato processing study. Can you imagine twenty-five QA Auditors looking over your shoulder? They were good sports to put up with us. Of course being the good auditors we are; we had to taste the end product- delicious fresh fried potato chips! A good time was had by all!

Now that I am past vice-pres., I can look back with relief - no more meetings to plan, but with sadness . I had the opportunity to work with a lot of nice people and would like to thank all of those that helped me with those meetings. You graciously offered your company facilities and your time as a PRC host and/or speaker. Without you, our meetings would not be successful.

Our new Vice-President, Mary Lynn, will now be planning our training sessions. Please let her know what topics you would like to have presented at these sessions. Our next meeting is July 19, 1999, hosted by Amgen, Thousand Oaks, CA . Look for more information in this newsletter.

A big thank you to Linda Massey, who has volunteered to serve as editor of our newsletter. Linda can be contacted at Valent USA, 6560 Trinity Court, Dublin, CA 94568, email: linda.massey@valent.com. Feel free to contact her with items for the newsletter. Good luck to Joan Ross, past editor, in your new position and thank you for the great job you did for us.

- See you in July!
