
The SQA Education Committee is starting the year out with ambitious initiatives and additional outreach to the Regional Chapters and other professional organizations. We have developed a standardized set of overheads for basic training. These will be made available to the Chapters upon request, along with hard-copy handouts. We are also developing a 4-hour presentation to be given at Universities and other professional non-profit organizations as an introduction to GLPs. Laura Metzger will be developing a curriculum for use in the Universities, while Barbara Patterson is helping develop a training calendar on the SQA web site. Other initiatives for 1998 include developing a database of SQA members willing to give presentations, assigning liaisons to regional chapters and specialty groups, and compiling a historic summary of all training offered by SQA. We currently have 5 training sessions scheduled throughout the year in addition to the pre-conference training to be given in Denver. Our course of action is largely based on the responses we received from the survey given out at the annual meeting. The tentative schedule of events (pending approval) and Chapter liaisons are:
