The two day training seminar hosted by the PRCSQA on January 12-13, 1998 was well attended with over 80 registered attendees. The speakers at this event included Frances Leim, Maryls Okada, Paul Lepore, Jeff Cummings, Carole Brown, Janet Rose Christensen, Leslie Kvasnicka, Joan Ross, Debi Garvin and Jim McFarland. Topics covered FDA issues (i.e. electronic signatures); EPA issues (i.e. A summary of the EPA findings during 1997); GCP issues (Whats new in the GCP arena) and people issues (i.e. How to handle GLP reticient people).

The next meeting of the PRCSQA will be hosted by Genentech on April 03, 1998. The meeting agenda is a seminar on "How to Handle Difficult People." The speaker for this event will be a professional trainer from Fred Pryor seminars. The meeting is free to PRCSQA and SQA members. The deadline to register for the meeting is March 15, 1998. Members must RSVP by the March 15, 1998 deadline to guarantee a space at this meeting. Space is limited. After the March 15, 1998 deadline, space permitting, non members are elgible to register for the meeting at a cost of twenty dollars. RSVP to Leslie L. The SQA regulatory review committee will be meeting on April 2nd at Genentech. Leslie Kvasnicka has agreed to continue to work as historian and fill the position of Past-President for an additional year. John Rachuy volunteered to be in charge of the "member spotlight" which was once a feature in the Left Coast Occasional. Thank you Cliff, Leslie and John!

Membership renewal forms were mailed in January. As you complete and return these forms take time to call other individuals who you feel might be interested in joining our chapter. Membership applications are posted online or can be obtained from the PRCSQA treasurer, Jim McFarland.
